 
Salt Pan Workers work under extremely hazardous conditions as the extreme bright dazzling light reflected from the white salt destroys eyesight, resulting in many of the salt workers and their children being able to see only in black & white and not in colour.
The most urgent issue facing them was to protect their eyes, as there was a risk of blindness. EMF sought to intervene to enhance their working conditions. The workers were educated about the risk to their eyes. A donor for dark glasses was found and dark glasses to protect the eyes of the salt workers were distributed free of cost. |
